Just randomly stumbled upon a Virgin bank esaver with a reasonable fixed interest rate of 2.25%. So opened a his and her account :)
Now need to find out if I can switch my co op account to a joint Halifax reward account and if my OH would be entitled to the £100 switch. I claimed it already, so wont get it again, so wondered if he would get it, if I opened a joint account. If not will have to set up a donor account for him to switch to Halifax .

Also Nationwide 1 year 5% rate finished on their current account but I still got a savings account that should still get 5% till December. Do I still need to have the current account and just leave the savings account there, or would it be best to keep the current account active till December too?

Decisions decisions. Miss Karlies updates on here about savings :(

thanks for the info re Virgin bank - I am sure I've looked at their website before and not spotted this. I vaguely remember looking at something to do with Virgin bank caf!s, only a few about but Edinburgh was one of them ...
I think Virgin is one of those that never appears on the best interest rates lists

my 2016/2017 ISA is one of those easy access ones paying a pittance in interest so each month £x is withdrawn and put into the current account and this covers the various monthly savers which all have much better rates of interest.
I've got a couple of savings accounts finishing in December so these will top the ISA up again and keep going for a long while.
Then 2 of the monthly savers reach their annual anniversary next summer so their totals will go back into the ISA pot again
like a weird rounabout, the same cash circulating in and out and back again :)
I really out to do some advanced maths to see how long this is feasible :)

Straight 47p in M, as far as I know, so avoid M comp. (certainly if buying the A mbuy) - then again I doubt that the price collectors will have the product - I think it's likely that none of the collection stores will have the product. But then they usually do find it and compare when I doubt they'll have it:rotfl:.
