Morning paw sniffers:D
A close friend has just gone through a similar thing with her DD. She took the opportunity to give her some of her furniture and buy new for herself.....its perfectly good stuff and looks lovely in its new home. On my first visit I wondered why everything seemed do nice and familiar. My friend is now helping her DD with the garden and taking cuttings from her own garden, so next year the gardens will look the same too:rotfl:To do is to be. Rousseau

TM you are making a friend for life. I now know some of the staff who do the reductions I always say thanks etc as most of the "customers" just push and grab
Enjoy your day

Wow what a week! I'm exhausted but in a good way.......
Friday, Dd got the keys for her new house, we had to drive into Liverpool for them to sign the tenancy agreement and then we moved the essential stuff in so they could move in that night
Saturday, we moved her bedroom furniture in, well her bf friends did actually but I was frantically tidying draws and hiding bras and bikini's in the drawers :rotfl:
Saturday night, meal out with my DSis and her hubby which was not a wise move because we consumed far too much alcohol and had a late night which made the next day hard work but hey ho it was worth it at the time:D
Sunday, curtain poles and curtains up and rearranging furniture when bf wasn't looking :rotfl: it was highly amusing watching him move a lamp and then when she came into the room she would move it back again, he'll learn :rotfl:
Monday, owl experience, it was the best day ever and I'm sure it won't be many more days until I can lift my arm again :rotfl:
Tuesday, more organising at Dd house and lots of visitors. Her poor bf got rid of a lot of clothes, shame he was at work and knows nothing about it!! I saw alot of myself in her yesterday, it was quite entertaining. Dh got them a carpet from work for their porch which had bright green tiles so that looks much better. Just waiting for the curtains and blinds to come now from la redoute and then they will be almost done. It's such a lovely house I could live there myselfit's a strange feeling I'm not sure why I feel so at home there, whether it's because half of our furniture, cushions, curtains are there I don't know. Yesterday we were sorting the clothes out and it just felt as though we were in her room at home doing it.
Today, thank goodness she is in work so I can have a day of rest I'm exhausted. I do have the pleasure of running her to work though :rotfl:
It's so fulfilling to see it all come together so quickly and they can get settled before the baby arrives
such a lovely week, it's really fulfilling when you can be hands on and help out, adult kids need so little input from us its satisfying when you can make a difference - its sort of closure in a way, they have a new life to start and you have helped give them the best start“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Lol, when we first moved here our sitting room looked just like my parents. My dad cut down their carpet to fit our room and we also had their three piece suite as they suddenly decided they needed new. There was nothing wrong with it at all and we didn't replace it until about 2000.0

morning all we are still in a state of flux here.
GF has taken all of her goods and chattels with her in the car today just incase the letting agency might possibly get their finger out and finally decide to do the hand over today but they were still vague about it yesterday.
Someone from her new place of work is on the legal team and he has said that he would ring the letting agency for GF if need be and put pressure on them but I don't think the letting agency would care less. They will do the hand over when they are ready and not before and only at a day and time that suits them.
GF says she is already dreading the day they hand back the flat and having to deal with these dreadful people again
in the meantime eldest son is still determined to drive up from his base tonight, ideally to the new fiat but who knows. This is despite him being at work on Thursday morning.
but if it all falls through then GF will be back here tonight as will eldest son but we won't know for certain until very late on and I am out most if the day in a place with a bad signal so I can't always pick up messages
so we won't know until much later if its dinner for 2, possibly 3 or even 4 - chicken pasta bake sounds possible or maybe I will just get some mince so OH can do mince and tatties ....
I've just checked the bedroom and eldest sons iPad is still thereso if it all goes to plan today we will sometime be doing the iPad delivery service yet again and taking it down to them - an excuse to have a look at the new flat anyway.
when eldest child stayed a few months back she also left her iPad and we did the iPad delivery service to her in London for the afternoon (what is wrong with youngsters I would wilt if detached from my iPad, I have to have it with me always)
it's been really lovely having GF with us these last few nights it will seem very quiet tonight with just us 2 again“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
