Another lovely day - we are being spoilt :D

Didn't think so! Those walls and the topography of the land speaks of somewhere else. If I'm right then in the grand scheme of things you haven't travelled far and those clouds might also be considered a clue :rotfl::rotfl:

Have to say :T:T to those taking a holiday at home instead of jet setting off to far flung locations. Britain is such a diverse country, there is something for everyone, but we don't always appreciate what we have on our door step :) I try to balance my trips abroad with trips at home. When many will be jetting off in Sept, i'll be heading back to Uni - hoping my timetable will be as sparse as I think it will be so I can go off to various parts of the UK before heading to NZ.

I think you have me sussed Westie ....I gave up long ago on thoughts of holidaying in Australia and trips to America. I have accepted that I won't fly. It's good that I worked it out for myself........it's not that I want to fly but can't ....it's just that I don't want to fly full stop.:D

So when I'm asked "where am I off to on holiday?" I don't answer almost apologetically " oh we are holidaying in England this year:o" . I shout it from the rooftops:T:T....singing the praises of this fabulous country we live in:T

Good luck to those who are fine flying and want to travel......we all Should be happy with our own choices.:)

I'm loving the village we are staying in. Tonight we are eating at a tiny tiny restaurant ......family run but with excellent reviews. We are trying to share our money out around the coffee shops and restaurants.....spreading the love:)

Will try and post a pic later:)

Had a bad couple days . Firstly dd and I and baby involved in an accident someone drove up the back of us going into t. So spent all afternoon at hospital getting baby and mum checked but all ok except dd has a sore neck and car seems ok. Went to do mums t and walked home and couldn't see properly and then couldn't speak properly so all night in a and e and a brain scan etc and I had a Tia. Back to hospital this morning for a scan on my arteries and to see consultant . Put me in some meds and said come back in an ambulance if it happens again. Said my cholesterol is high 8.2 but dr told me that 2 months ago after a random blood test and just told me to walk more and come back in a year. In bed having a rest for now

    Have a lovely holiday TM.

I never thought I'd fly, in fact I got to age 34 before I finally gave it a go and much to my amazement I loved it. Mind you, as I said at the time, if the turbulence that happened on return flight had occurred on the outbound journey, I might have felt differently - and indeed might still have been in Portugal to this day! Done short haul and long haul flights since then, in company and on my own, and been perfectly ok with it all.

Nowadays, it's not the actual flying that puts me off, it's the thought of the airports. Just not keen on coping with them any more.
