Well I wouldn't do that - see post 3. In fact, that's the most interesting, as I suppose I thought once the cheque had cleared, everything would be kosher. Seems not.0 -
I got a phone call about my stocks but I couldn't remember what I invested in so I couldn't tell them the information.
So they were con artists? Not surprising. I win though!

No, definitely an English company - Hill Station Ice Cream, took over Losely ice cream, then went bust. ....
Hill Station plc. Went into administration in 2008, dissolved in 2013.AnotherJoe wrote: »Losely are still going though, it's seemingly always being sold whenever I go to the theatre, did they sell that off after they went bust ?
The business was bought a venture capital backed outfit Loseley Dairy Ice Cream. That went into administration in 2011. The Loseley brand and assets were acquired by Beachdean which still makes the stuff.0 -

Unless, is there any possibility the company is doing well somewhere abroad that you aren't aware of ? What is the company called?
So what happens if you take the cheque and then don't pay them the difference?
Presumably they'll take you to court......0
