When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Good Morning All
I finally have an estate agency coming out today to value the lease. The first one I contacted decided that I was too far off track for them. So trying to be optimistic about that.
Standard small things for me
1. Check banking
2. Plan dinner around existing stock
3. Walk as much as possible for exercise and bus £ saving
Hope everyone is ok. Not long to the weekend now.
Bob
Yorkshire thanks for your support on yesterday's thread. I can see why your husband would find it hard to stop. I have taken a very long time to make the decision & put myself and family through quite a lot of hardship trying to make things work becauae I feel like I committed to this, plus the whole 'sunk funds fallacy' i.e I have put in X therefore I cant stop till that is recouped. But in reality is a gambling mentality that doesn't pay off. So if your OH has been in his situation for 13 years vs my 4 perhaps he literally cant see the edges anymore and doesn't see what direction to go in." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Morning Bob thanks for the start. I do hope your valuation goes well today.
Well, I've been away and licked my wounds, never completely healed but certainly not in the place I was. Thanks for all the good wishes, you lots really are fab. :happyhear: the good news is there has been loads of debt busting going on. We went on a (paid and budgeted) holiday. We came back with money which went straight on the cc. Cc2 is now in sight of being gone (hopefully next month) :T then on the home straight.
For one reason and another we have a freezer full of (free to us) food, so we shall be using the wisely and minimising food spend. Lots of other bits that have helped over the past month too. It's been good to have something to focus on.
Anyway, I'm rambling, today's list to keep me focused:
Pop to DIY shop and get something cheap for the 2 leaks under the sink
Check banking, surveys and FPL
Tea from freezer
Try and fit in a run
Work from home so no commute and no reason to spend
See if I can find anyone local to make some curtains for me, I've found the material
Continue to take try washing off the airer, looks like a Laundry in here, oh for the day to hang outside again :rotfl:
Looking forward to catching up properly with you all. PF.0 -

Hi All,
DS1 is fine, a mild respiratory problem so was given steroids and need to monitor it. I have had a bit of a bad mummy moment where I feel so guilty and could cry. We cant put DS2 on the floor because of the neighbours and he bangs, so I was quickly changing him this morning and forgot socks so ran to get them and he rolled off the bed.... I feel terrible to say the least. He is fine, just cried for a bit but made me feel a) like I am a terrible mum for leaving him unattended b) because of our living situation, I cant do anything with him :embarasse:cry::embarasse:cry:
- school run Done
- entertain DD and DS2 for free Done
- health visitor coming Done
- call health team to re-arrange DS2's review Done
- order contact lenses Done
- start planning meals for next week so can write a shopping list
- lunch at mums and nursery run with DD
- check Ashleigh and FPL Done
- surveys
- two washes at home One done this morning, one to go!
- dinner from stores, taken gammon steaks out the freezer
- have a look around to see if I can donate anything to the school fair
- sort paperwork that has built up again
Will add more later xDMP Started June 20160 -
Hi June Jubilatants,
Thanks for the starter Bob.
As both of us now have WifeFlu we're taking it easy today....and not being as money-saving as we'd usually be. Had to nip to local Sainsbury's as feeling too pathetic to go to town for groceries.
Debt Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Two:
* Stayed up til 1am doing Tax Credits renewal and DW's yearly accounts. Took a huge amount of psychological effort. Think the cold has gone to my brain. The main thing is DW's business returned a profit this year.
* Took a parcel for the US to to the Post Office. Asked for the cheapest and was told it'd be over £5. Pointed out this wasn't the cheapest way and spent £3.85 instead.
How about you folks?
