Gove

Did Gove actually acuse the Guardian of ' try to get a 79-year-old man to serve their agenda' when that was exactly what he was attempting to do?

That is precisely what the Guardian was trying to do by phoning him, apparently out of the blue, in order to try and trick him.

Michael Gove has previously discussed precisely this issue several times. I don't think he was lying, and found the story about the two boys who were employed by his father and lost their jobs believable. I get the impression that Michael Gove has always felt quite aggrieved by what happened to his father – that's all.

    He did well tonight.

I've always claimed his head's emptier than a hermit's address book. He'd never have dared let his dad talk to the press during the Scottish referendum two years ago or even talk himself about the fishing industry decline as it would have been a real boost for the Scottish Yes campaign.

But hey, now's the time to moan about the horrific EU- Westminster deal as if the EU were the only villains. :(

My point is that he was accusing The Guardian of something that he was doing himself , namely using a 79 yo man to serve his agenda.

The idea that the Guardian would behave like a tabloid and ring up a confused old man and distort what he says is absurd.

The quotes attributed to Gove senior seems quite credible:
“It wasn’t any hardship or things like that. I just decided to call it a day and sold up my business and went on to work with someone else,” he said.

couldn’t see any future in it, that type of thing, the business that I had, so I wasn’t going to go into all the trouble of having hardship. I just decided to sell up and get a job with someone else. That was all.”

Gove has shown himself up on this.

Providing that they are kept in context and not edited to do precisely the opposite. To create "headlines" or slant the article that's been written.
