HSBC loan

Hello,

This is my first post, so please don't get cross with me if I've got the etiquette wrong!

I applied for a HSBC personal loan, and received an email today saying that it had been approved subject to a couple of final checks, and that I may have been offered a different rate to the one advertised. It also said that they'd send the forms in the post for me to sign.

I'm wondering what these final checks are - surely they'd have credit checked me before saying that I've been approved? Or is that not the case. Anyone have an idea as to what these final checks are?

Thanks in advance,

Luce
