Wheelchairs on trains

Hello,
I am a wheelchair user and use the train every now and then. For local trips to town I don't book assistance and the guards look after me. For longer planned trips I book and have had to choose different train time as there was already a wheelchair user onboard. Just to clarify I'm not complaining about that the assistance line are really helpful.
Now I'm an anxious person that likes to be prepared..
What I wondered is can more than one wheelchair user travel on a train?
What would happen if two wheelchair users wanted to get the same train without booking, is it just a case of who asks the office first for ramps?

I think there are two issues here. Long distance trains have a limited number of spaces for wheelchairs - extra wheelchairs would block doorways so presumably the guard would refuse to let these on unless the passenger had some mobility and a foldable chair.
On local trains with double sliding doors there is space for a wheelchair at every doorway so no problem getting on. If you are at a station with only one ramp presumably staff would realise there were several wheelchair users and congregate you together.0
