    This "potential" terminal bonus being lost is what is fuzzing my thinking probably - as it seems to be a case of the complete unknown with Aviva.

    Is an offset mortgage an option? You can perhaps repay it down to the last pound and adjust the repayment to £0.01 or whatever.
