Latest ONS figures put London up ...

14.5% in the last twelve months.

Could a lower pound make price surge even more ?

Judging by sales in my area, my house is definitely not up 14%. I assume the figures are skewed by certain locations.

Zoopla has cranked up its London estimates seemingly on those new ONS figures. My place jumped 6% this month.

Are we talking about the newly released Land Reg/ONS UK house price index here? ONS don't do their own figures now do they??

Again, judging by my local area and sales for similar properties, my place has risen 6% YoY for the last two years. I don't know which areas are contributing to the 14% figure, probably SE London.

Has anyone else considered, now they take the top tear out of the housing average we may see greater upside potential for relatively cheap properties ?

London up 14.5% this year using the new stats is just one early example of how this change may work.

I was thinking of a couple of days in London. Should I scrap this and have a long weekend in Wood Green instead?

I assumed things would have dropped off a bit after the BTL changes, but was chatting to a local EA, and things still moving along well out in here in zone 4, stuff still moving relatively quickly if priced appropriately and often still above asking price.
