A tricky employment question! FTB

Hi there,
Wondering if anyone could offer their advice please?!!
My hubby and I are FTB. We both have permanent full time jobs and will have our deposit together within the next 18m. My husband has been in current role for 15+yrs and has been given the chance to train as a nurse by employer (currently health care assistant). This will take 3 years and the hospital trust are paying his current salary whilst he trains plus the degree fees. There is also a guarantee of a full time permanent job as a qualified nurse at the end, will have his wages paid by the trust as usual. He will still be classed as a permanent employee and current role will remain should he not complete/pass. Would we stand a chance of acceptance for a mortgage. His salary £23k, mine £40k.
Any advice grateful!!

As long as he's still employed with the same employer on a permanent contract with the same salary and hours it won't make any difference to your mortgage application, in fact it would be view favourably as natural career progression. But before you do anything in terms of applying for mortgages or putting offers on houses it would be advisable to get a whole of market mortgage broker to check how much you can borrow, what deposit you'll need, what it will cost etc.

Congrats to your Hubby for the promotion :)
