answering my own question here I found the webpage and also the phone number - it looks like when I swiped out at Farringdon it did not take so it showed as an incomplete journey so a very lovely chatty lady from TFL processed the refund of overcharge for me.
I think if it had not been for OH charges being different I would not have realised, just thought that zone 1 was expensive.
I really need to sort my Oyster out so I can see my journeys out online
so the total sum knowledge for today has increased significantly :jplease can I ask is anyone an expert on London underground charges please.
OH used his Nationwide contactless debit card and was charged £4.80. I used my TSB contactless and I was charged £10.10
we did the exact same journeys.
also we had eldest child with us so she makes sure I tab in and tab out correctly going through the turnstyles.
we did 2 trips - Euston Square up to Farringdon and later Leicester Square back to Euston last Thursday“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. packs changing sizes is one of my pet hates:(Savvybuyer wrote: »M seem to be changing pack size on the Savers Bran Flakes now. However, I don't know whether this is the case yet, as I've visited stores I don't normally visit (could be possible they generally have different sizes to mine).
if they are moving to another pack size as it will make them non-comparable from A (unless A later goes and changes its pack too - and I don't see why they would). There was no way to tell from the BB dates whether the 750g stock was significantly older - as the BB dates on the different pack sizes were roughly about the same.
M currently have Savers Bran Flakes (500g) and Savers Bran Flakes (750g). You may find both of them in your M or you may have only the 500g packs or only the 750g packs. I had all three situations yesterday. Or you may have neither of them at all:rotfl: - in fact I think there will be some minority of stores with that situation as I remember starting off a price collection from a smaller M a few months ago (logistically had to start at the smaller store on that occasion - although it wasn't ideal) and Savers Bran Flakes were one of the items I had to carry over to the next store as I couldn't find them at all. That was when I was only looking for 750g (but would have seen 500g if there were any - like I did yesterday - I thought the price had dropped substantially when I first saw it but then noticed it was a smaller pack so, sadly not). I wasn't aware to be looking for 500g anywhere and - as far as I know - they are brand new in M.
I think M is 57p on 500g Bran Flakes (if I have remembered that correctly) and of course 88p on 750g. In fact it looks like 750g might be disappearing - or maybe not? - as I notice they are no longer in stock on m.com, though the 500g product has yet to make it to online. 57p for 500g would actually work out cheaper than 88p for 750g - seems to be a very clever move by M as 57p is slightly cheaper than 88p for 750g but more expensive than 10% cheaper than 88p which won't be available if M changes pack size completely. However, it's possible they didn't even have this in mind.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

What do people think about Savvy starting a new thread now, so he can put his posts on the first page?
no, please don't start yet another thread as there are some likely changes in the offing - it's nothing bad or dramatic, just an option being considered to make life easier for everybody.

Updating Snap on the news. Parents have a fault on the line and BT cant fix for 24 hours
I'm impreshed that they said 24 hours:eek:please can I ask is anyone an expert on London underground charges please.

NOT an expert but we did a journey a little while ago, a ticket would have cost us £9.90 but the ticket officers aid contactless would be considerably cheaper and I was charged £3 for the same journey.
That difference does seem more like an error.
This may or may not help :
