best/cheapest colouring pencils for adult colouring? I bought some from a pound shop and they are not good!
Many thanks to all who contribute on MSE

The best won't be the cheapest - but nor is there any guarantee the most expensive will be the best.
If you are near a decent art shop, go and ask to try some of their colouring pencils and see which you like. Much depends on your preferences and what you like colouring - a soft, smooth colouring pencil which blends well? or one which excels in tiny, precise spaces?
Decide what you want (which if you are relatively new to the adult colouring craze may just be a good general purpose pencil crayon) and then have a browse on Amazon and see what genuine reviewers (i.e. the ones who don't give 5 stars for everything because they got it free/discounted and want to make sure they get more handouts) have to say.
WH Smith have plenty including this pack of 36 for £4.99 which are very well reviewed: http://www.whsmith.co.uk/products/whsmith-artists-colouring-pencils-pack-of-36/240283180 -
try The Works they have loads of different ones online branded & unbranded"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

These are really good crayons, strong for fine detail but a good amount of pigment to wax.0 -
Haven't done any adult colouring-in myself, but the Staedler Noris pencils are lovely: Vibrant colours, easy to sharpen and a good price. There's some kind of partnership with Johanna Basford adult colouring books, so they must be suitable for that purpose.

W H Smiths pencils (in a purple box) are great. I use them along with Staedler Noris pencils and my much more expensive Faber castell pencils. The W H Smith pencils are a bit softer than the Staedler Noris pencils- the Staedler Noris are much more durable though.2018 wins-12wins0

I was really pleased with my Crayola ones. I think they were called Tropicolour. I bought them on Amazon quite a while ago but they may still do them0
