Barclays Mortgage

I recently applied the mortgage from Barclays for a new build.
I can't believe they give me offer valid from the date of application but not when the offer was out for six months. and when I called them for more details, I was talked they even can't do any extensions if the completion date of the build is delay and not hit the final date of the offer. Why are they doing so and What should I do. any advice?
Thank you very much. Should I decline this offer?

I got caught out by this for a client of mine a couple of years back.
I had to re-apply, but I put a note on the file to cross reference the original case with the new one and everything was fine. I think I had to supply new bank statements/payslips but im not 100% sure on that as it was so long ago.

Exactly this. New application, new proof of income etc and cross reference the old application number.

Unless it is going to complete with 14 days of the offer expiry and then it can be extended by up to 14 days if they receive the COT from your solicitor.

You have not paid any of the £999 fee if you haven't yet made a monthly payment.

    No completion, no fee.

I do not use Barclays often or do new builds often but I would double check this. Its been a while since I did a new build with Barclays but unless their process has changed considerably I can not see that being the case....I could very easily be wrong however.

Kingstreet is probably the best person to answer this (apart from Barclays themselves...although even then I think I would probably rely on Kingstreet' answer over Barclays :P)
