New job and Mortgage offers

Looks like we are going to get an offer on our house but my husband was offered a new job yesterday, where does this leave us in relation to our mortgage, we have got an offer in principle but I don't think that it will stand if hubby is waiting to start his job. Any ideas I'm going to contact my mortgage advisor but can't do that till Monday

  • Hey, Dollymix. My hubby and I are in a similar situation, although we don't have our house on the market yet, but I'd be interested to know the answer to your question :)
  • My hubby had a new job offer when we applied - we went with the Halifax and they accepted a contract as proof of his job, and approved us.

Im not recommending them btw - just showing some lenders will do it but a broker will be able to help because every mortgage case is different

Ah that's good, had visions of having to move in with the mother in law cause the house has been up since Feb, the markets not really been doing much over the last few months and we just want to sell. Might have been panicking for nothing anyway the offer has come in lower than we want to accept so just waiting for the estate agent to get back to us

In terms of new mortgage applications (if required), some banks are iffy about it if you are still in your probationary period at new job - Others are fine with it provided you can demonstrate at least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • I think you should listen to your husbend. Don't hurry up! I hope you'll find the solution of the problem
