Unwanted letters

Options
Hi all

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but couldn't work out where to put this thread.

I moved into my present house in October of last year. The previous tenants (owners) have their own business and after some 8 months I am still receiving some of their post which recently has only been frequent letters from Companies House and "signed for" letters addressed to the Directors. I am concerned that the business may be in trouble and wondered what I could do to stop this happening? I have debts of my own and do not want any association with this to affect my credit rating or even potential bailiffs coming to the door.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks :)

    Hi,

Just return them unopened, with "NOT AT THIS ADDRESS" written on them, they will eventually get the message.

Its a common fallacy that addresses are blacklisted against bad debtors, they are not.

IF anyone came looking for the previous owners, you simply tell them they have moved, and its nothing to do with you, if its a debt collector, they are of no consequence anyway, if it happened to be a bailiff, you would write to there head office with proof of your ID, and that would be the end of the matter.

As bailiffs have the power of entry in some situations, you would need to be a little proactive in dealing with it, but under no circumstances should you allow them entry.
