Hi
I have 2 accounts with Moorcroft Debt Recovery for £913.49 and £1674.64.
I got in trouble I admit that and now I have to pay, I have no problem with that it is just the way that I am treated by these jokers.
I was off sick and forgot to pay 1 of the accounts. So a few days ago I get a call on the land line which I share with my parents. They overheard the conversation and were not happy.
I have never given Moorcroft the land line number or rung them on it. All access has either been with email or mobile.
Moorcroft has emailed me after I blasted them to say the land line number has been withdrawn from records but they have so far refused to get back in touch to say how the got it.
I am also on the verge of being asked to leave as my parents dont want this house associated with debt companies and Moorcroft have refused to answer questions on this as well.
I am very near to Manchester tomorrow and feel like calling in on their address and seeing what they have to say

Getting spam calls is pretty much part of life these days - your parents are over-reacting and just need call blocking if they don't already have it.
Moorcroft could have got the number from a variety of sources. If they use it again you need to put something in writing. Try this.

All you would find would be a room full of people who would not have a clue how to answer your question.
The majority of staff are salespeople, there to encourage you to part with as much money as possible, with little or no training in anything else.
There will be a small compliance dept, this is the head of the snake if you like, there to see everything done is above board, well in theory anyway.
The letter above is a good way to go, and remember, Moorcroft only manage accounts for clients, they don't own the accounts they attempt collection on, so you can completely ignore them, if you wish, and there's nothing they can do about it, the debt would probably be recycled out to another DCA, who may be easier to deal with.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You can try and report them to the Information Commissioner's Office.
This is their website; https://www.ico.org.uk
Can I ask what are you debts for and if they are before April 2007, there is a chance the debt could be unenforceable.
Have you asked Moorcrap for evidence of the debt ie a signed valid credit agreement!?
They might just be phishing.0
