Has anyone here, trying to lose weight, attended any residential fitness camps, aka fat camps/boot camps etc and can share their experiences? Just toying with the idea myself...

I spent 7 days in the middle of nowhere with this bunch doing 6 hours of exercise a day.
I lost half a stone.
They do specialised courses for women only and for those with a high body mass index.
They are expensive, though. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Do you/did you feel it was money well spent? Did the other girls/women on site there all lose about the same 1/2 stone?0 -
It was a course - healthy eating, cooking tips, lifestyle stuff as well as the exercise.
We all lost at least half a stone, some lost more and yes, we considered it money well spent as it was a 'kick start'/kick up the bum for us.
The diet was very restricted and very low in sugar, one lady had Type II DM and her blood sugars were down to normal on the last day. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0
