Biscuit Recipe...

I've just got some dog bone (like Bonio) shaped cookie cutters and have been experimenting with dough.
When cooking, the shape has not held and the biscuits have either 'spread' into blobs, were too crumbly or just looked wrong.
I need a recipe (human not canine
) that will produce dark, crispy (but thick) biscuits that hold their shape to resemble doggie biscuits.
I'm hoping to make 'doggie' bags for a few male relatives and I think 'dog' biscuits will be a bit of fun.
Any ideas?

I have made these and they did keep the shape. Perhaps use some food colouring or dark sugar to make them darker.
