NEBOSH General Certificate - Elearning

Hi,

Has anyone completed the NEBOSH General Certificate via online/e-learning? Was it a hassle or an easy process or would it be better to pay for the classroom course?

  • What did you go with in the end? I just signed up today for e learning with shields.
  • Doesn't the General Certificate involve a pratical element/assessment though? Or am I thinking of the diploma?

When I completed mine some time ago, there was a workplace inspection where you had to identify hazards and then complete a report. This was done a day prior to the exams. I have no idea if they do that now.

I did the classroom course over a couple of weeks which was quite intense, but by the time the exams came around, everything was reasonably fresh in my mind.

Those who have completed a IOSH managing safely course will have an advantage before embarking onto a NEBOSH course (in my opinion) whereas those who think that H&S is walking around with a Hi-viz jacket with a clipboard in hand looking for hazards may struggle.

Others I have spoken to have suggested the intense classroom course was the better option.
