Pension Advice cold call

Hi, I received a few calls from a company offering free Pension advice. At first I thought they were something to do with the Pension Advisory Service or a government scheme as they said things regarding new government legislation.
The person talked about how they offer free pension advice to people with frozen pensions worth over £15k. We also go talking about ISA's and there performance and they also offered free advice on that too. He had all my details and confirmed some with me but I didn't give bank details or anything like that.
The company is called Pensions Legal and it wasn't until afterwards that I thought perhaps this wasn't government related at all and a private company. Which made me concerned as to what is in it for them?
They have made an appointment for some documents to be delivered on Monday and they need to be signed for and sent back to them so they are then authorised to do the research and give me a report.
Has anyone had any dealings with this company? Is it legit? Should I sign the documents on Monday? They have a website but that means nothing as I know it is easy to knock up a website and look official.
Help please

It's a scam.
Do not have any dealings with them & do not sign anything.
Always put the phone down on cold calls.0 -

Pensions Legal Limited, Company number 09057157 does exist.
The company was incorporated on 27 May 2014 under the name of Harringtons Childcare Centres Limited, but changed its name on 26 Oct 2015 to Pensions Legal Limited. The company has the same registered address as Harringtons Advisory Ltd and they have a director in common.
Harringtons Advisory is a PPI ambulance chaser. There is a thread about them.

This is purely my personal opinion, you understand. But I wouldn't touch 'em with a very long bargepole.0 -
It isnt "Pure Pensions Legal Ltd" is it?
If so companies house says they have been dissolved and the web site www.purepensionslegal.co.uk is blocked by my corporate network because of issues over content.
All the content that Google shows in their summary is in capital letters which doest look good.
But Company number 07824262 - PURE PENSIONS LEGAL LIMITED was dissolved though. Address was 1st Floor, 2 Woodberry Grove, North Finchley, London, England, N12 0DR0 -
Hi, I received a few calls from a company offering free Pension advice.
Any company doing that is a scam. Pension advice is not free. There are a number of consumer body and regulatory warnings telling people not to act on cold calls about free pensions reviews.
http://www.thepensionsregulator.gov.uk/regulate-and-enforce/pension-scams.aspxThe person talked about how they offer free pension advice to people with frozen pensions worth over £15k.
Which tells you a lot about the quality of the person calling as the term frozen has a specific meaning and only applies to a very tiny number of cases nowadays. The company is called Pensions Legal and it wasn't until afterwards that I thought perhaps this wasn't government related at all and a private company. Which made me concerned as to what is in it for them?
There is no company with that name on the Financial services register. This means they are not authorised or regulated in the UK to give financial advice. Doing so would mean they are acting unlawfully. What is in it for them? the same as all scams.... they want your money.
I also did an address search and there was no match.Has anyone had any dealings with this company? Is it legit? Should I sign the documents on Monday? They have a website but that means nothing as I know it is easy to knock up a website and look official.
Their website contains none of the company house details and no regulatory messages and FCA status on it which. So, another giveaway.
If they are not on the register they are not legit. You should now report them to the FCA.

As mentioned higher up, Harringtons Advisory also share the same address. A CMC with a very bad repution. Pensions Legal Ltd used to be called HARRINGTONS CHILDCARE CENTRES LIMITED. (source: companies house). Google Search Harrintons advisory for lots of information.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If this is the website: http://www.pensionslegal.co.uk/pensions-explained/
then the information within is over 10 years out of date, which is impressive for a company apparently entering into the pensions world for the first time in the last two years. Wouldn't trust them with my pension!
It's a scam. Any unsolicited phone call about your pensions will always be a scam. The government will not contact you about your pension in this way. Do not listen to them, do not give them any information, report them to the Information Commissioner (as there is a good chance that they have got hold of or are using your details illegally), the FCA, and the police organisation Action Fraud.
If you need any information about your pensions, how to track down old pensions with old employers, what your options are on or before retirement, or anything at all - this forum is a good place to start. Please use us first, or a trusted organisation like the Pensions Advisory Service, rather than cold-callers.I am a Technical Analyst at a third-party pension administration company. Thank you everyone, I shall not be having any more dealings with these people.0
