Ex pat Mortgages...?

Does anyone know anything about such mortgages?
I have been working outside the UK for several years now, and I'm saving for a deposit on a house in the UK in the next couple of years.
I am not resident in the UK for tax purposes. Also my salary is paid locally in local currency and I then transfer savings to the UK periodically. I guess this may make a difference.
I want to rent out the property that I buy until such time as I move back to the UK.
Does anybody know any brokers, comparison sites or mortgage providers for ex pats? I understand since 2014 there are less lenders about. I may just have to move back to the UK for a few years, get a FTB mortgage and then see if I can get a consent to let and move back abroad, but I'd rather just stay abroad and see the world (as people keep telling me is a good idea whilst i'm still young).
