Does the child travel free on buses, tubes, trams, etc when they are on they own?
What about if they are with an adult?
Thanks

Just checked online, I don't believe it...my kid would pay to travel on tube next month!!!0

They travel free on buses and trams and half fare on (most) other services
The presence or otherwise of an adult is irrelevant0 -
Another question - at the moment my kid is at primary school and will be 11 soon. Does the kid have to pay for tube when travelling with teachers and class mates (school trip)?
Thanks0 -

Otherwise, you already know the rules:Children aged over 10 years and 11 months and under 16 on 31 August can get an 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard to:
. travel free on buses and trams
. at child rate on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail, Emirates Air Line and most National Rail services in London
. at half adult rate on Thames Clipper River Bus services0 -
Zip card only bus and tram. Think tube is kiddy fare. From 16+ in full time education it can run until age 20. It really is a block of gold. And the child 11 to 15 can travel alone. :cool:0

You can travel anywhere within the London fare zone with a Zip Card, even on national rail. Assuming it's pre-pay, the fare differs from TfL services to National Rail services (under 11s are free on tubes and busses, but over 5s pay half fare on national rail, even within London).0

Bus and tram only as a freebie. You can use it also as PAYG for other services.

London schools always arrange free travel through TfL's School Party Travel Scheme (which also encompasses travel on National Rail services in London).0
