  • Hi all,
Haven't posted in a long while, but here is current debt:

    Tesco: £55
    Lloyds CC: £680
    Barclaycard: £ 2663
    Very: £63

    (all on 0%)

    Total: £3461

Very debt will be paid off in April (yay). Plus I've got a job interview on Wednesday to work at my union shop on uni campus so I'm super excited to hopefully get it. I've been looking for a part-time job for about 4 months now and got constantly rejected, which really dampens my self-confidence. I'm so hoping I get this job :( It's £8.24 per hour which is great and I could pay off a big chunk of my debts before the beginning of summer.

I haven't posted on here in a long while because a lot has gone on this academic year, some good but mostly bad which has made me become depressed and anxious again. I've just started to get help though so hopefully I'll be better by next September.

    Anyway, post again soon :)

    Thank you Cherryfudge!
I've just had it and it went very well ( I think). Probably up there with the easiest and funnest interviews I've had.

Hear back whether I'm successful or not this Friday so fingers crossed :j
  • Woop, I got the job! :j:j:j

Wasn't expecting to hear back so quickly so it came as a lovely surprise email waiting for me this afternoon.
The offer also states a higher pay rate per hour, £7.50ph + £1.08 holiday pay ph compared to £7.20 + £1.04what the original advertisment stated, so bonus! :T

I'm so happy, I'm trying really hard to contain my excitement :D:D:D
I start next week so I can start earning asap - I think going a year and a half not working has dampened my self-worth, so it'll be nice to get that back.
Also great to start chipping away at my stupid debt which currently stands at £3462.67:mad:

I've been reading a few diaries on here and feel like I want to get back into the habit of writing mine to help me stay motivated and on track. I've seen a few people mention YNAB. I had a look and initally it confused the HELL out of me. It just made me confused and frustrated and so I dismissed it. But as I saw more and more people mention it and state that it really helps them, I thought I should at least try and give it a go. So I've been playing around with it for a good few days now and think I've finally got the hang of it now, and I'm loving it. I love being super-organised and this is just the tool that I need.

Anyway, I'm off to rsvp to the job offer :D Have a good afternoon/ evening everyone
  • Congrats on the job from a lurker!!!! Super well done - you are smashing it :-)

    Thank you Ada :D
  • Did a top up shop yesterday and stayed well within my £20 limit totalling only £15.20 :T

On another note though I've had to budget myself some extra money to buy some lotions and potions. The skin on my face has become incredibly over-sensitive because of these new acne drugs that I've just been prescribed. It's threw me off a little bit financially because I had literally only just topped up my moisturiser, toner, primer, face wash etc. from my favourite range in The Body Shop, but now my face stings like a !!!!! when I use them
I manged to get some good deals though on some Simple and Superdrug-own brand lotions; totalling £12.91 but I got it for £4.97 using offers and Beauty Points :j so fingers crossed they're sensitive enough for my skin.
