    Regardless of whether you owe £9000 or £9, make sure it is free, impartial advice you are seeking and not one of the numerous "debt solutions" companies that can be found online.

  • Is there a reason why most people on this forum seem to advocate Stepchange over Payplan? I'm with Payplan & (bar one small incident of them ignoring a creditors' request for a statement of income & expenditure) they've been great. Sorry to hijack the thread, just wondering & it might also help OP with their decision x

    Start with national Debtline or CAB as being impartial

    Go with Stepchange or Payplan if you need a debt management plan and can meet their minimum payment requirements.

    CAB if you need a DRO, as long as your local office can do them
