I am non paleo but use around £60.00 per month for food alone (I too live alone ) and usually have cash left over. But I have cut back on actually going to the shops and only go when I have at least 10 items to buy that I have run out of or NEED as opposed to spot and impulse buy.I am lucky that I have a sunday dinner every week at Dds house and on tuesdays I go to a quiz night where we get a meal included in the quiz for £2.00 so my Tuesday night meal comes in under my entertainment budget so I only have five main meals to cook per week and 7 lunches and 7 breakfasts. So £15.00 per week is quite doable. Iceland had chicken breasts on off the other day at £2.00 and I got a pack which had four good sized ones inside I browned them off and diced them up and mad a curry bulked out with some diced onion, mushrooms(from freezer reduced )tin of dented chopped tomatoes (20p) and some diced red pepper from freezer also reduced .along with some curry spices from the cupboard and a stock cube I made five portions which are now sitting in my freezer cost me around £2.20ish for five meals with rice (very cheap to buy) I grew up with a canny little Scots Mum who could make a shilling do the work of ten
so frugality runs through my veins
:):) Any left over cash at the end of the month goes into my holiday fund for our family holiday in August
