Secret mortgage deals? Any experience?

Looks like an old article, but has anyone here got any secret deals with HSBC or any other big lender? What was the discount offered compared to normal advertised deals?

Going by the lack of response I am guessing that not many such secret deals exist or they come with a non disclosure agreement!0

I remember saying to one of my account managers once that if it wasnt for their valuation fee I would be sending the case to them but the client does not want any upfront fees. Valuation fee was £350, he asked if he could halve the arrangement fee (which was being added) from £999 to £500 would that make a difference - client happy to do it.
But that was with a smallish quirky lender I use a fair bit. It was a one off and he has never done it since when asked.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. What commercial benefit is there to a lender of "secret" deals?0
