Using up peaches

My neighbour went on holiday today and kindly gave me some salad and a punnet of (slightly wrinkly) peaches that need using up ASAP. The peaches are past their best/overripe and I wondered if anyone had any good ideas about how I could use them up? Thanks.

Google Peach cobbler and Peach clafoutis for starters.

After that, I would just eat them after skinning and stoning with a Greek yogurt, Yum,

Or with raspberries. Peach Melba, yum.

Blanch in boiling water if you don't fancy the skins.

If I ever have peaches or nectarines that are a bit past their best, I halve them, stone them, sprinkle with a bit of sugar and a small knob of butter and bake them in the oven for about 20 mins. They are delicious served this way with a bit of ice cream.

I quite often use YS fruit like this.

Upside down cake! I made one yesterday with some nectarines and OH said absolutely delish

I halved the fruit, greased and lined cake tin, sprinkled a bit of brown sugar in the bottom then popped the fruit in cut side down and the put usual 2 egg cake mix on top. Baked for about 35 mins, served with a dollop of cream, yum!

  • Thanks everyone for your ideas - they all sound DELICIOUS. I now have another probloem - choosing between them ... !
  • Chop them up, add ice cream. Get on with it.
