Mortgages up to age 85 years with Nationwide. Has anyone applied yet. I did. Affordability interview in branch followed by surreal telephone application. Told the product is only available through broker. Society would not be taking applications in branch, on line or by phone! Staff member advised me to use unbiased.com to find a financial advisor. He said he didn't really know much about the new product or when it woul be available. I was astounded. Asked him if he read any of the press quotes by his boss which extolled the virtue of the new product. No. He hadn't read anything. When pressed he researched a bit more (I could hear him hitting his keyboard) and told me that the product would be rolled out either in July or August. He couldn't be certain.
I'm speechless!

The official press release of the 9th May 2016 announced that Nationwide has increased its age limit by ten years to 85 from July. No ambiguity there.0
