My son has managed to get through 3 headsets in the last year, 2 Xbox One branded ones and one turtle beach, he's gone for the base level versions (around £40 mark).
Do the more expensive last longer or am I better just getting the cheaper ones and replacing them every few months (or getting him to sit still) or are there any good wireless ones?
Many thanks.

My suggestion would be to ask him to save up and pay for it as he keeps breaking them. Theyre pretty robust. If he didnt want to pay for them he can do without the headset.
I take it you know its his fault as your not wanting to return them for being faulty or not fit for purpose?0 -
first 2 were a design flaw, the mic had a fault, 3rd was his fault, bouncing around and pulling, and he will be paying for it!0

The cheap headsets don't last. Turtle beaches are okay. The option of using the kinect is always available. It has a built in mic and you can play voice through the TV speakers.0

Thats all dependent on him having the kinect
OP as above I'd be inclined to say your son might be being too heavy handed with them.
I've only ever owned the basic xbox mics you get free with xbox and two pairs of turtle beaches (the x11s for the 360 - can now be used with the new xbox one controllers though - and the xo four stealths for xbone). The x11's were i think the 2nd or 3rd cheapest turtle beaches available and 8 years later, they're still in full working order. The xo fours are about a year old and are usually around £90 (i managed to get mine for £35 due to currys making a mistake) so are more of a mid range headset.
Certainly with the x11's, they cost about £40 from new and were usually given much better reviews than even the ones at £100-150 - so price isn't everything!
Do you know what model of turtle beaches your son has?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I use my Xbox a lot daily and I can say the cheap ones do no last as long as the Basic £40 headsets. I've had a Set of XO7's and they've done me for 2+ Years now. I use them for anything you could need headphones for and they lasted me. I tend to be quite heavy handed at times with them and they still work. Turltebeach even send me new ear cushions when I couldn't get a set of them in the UK!
Do not use Kinect and TV Speakers unless you want dreadful echo and people getting annoyed at your son if he uses Xbox Live parties.0
