All I can say is that you must have got out and about more than me, can't remember people discussing it at all.0

Yes I have a job, and yes I had to move offices. Causing a lot of extra travel, when I am not quite up to scratch health wise. I was talking about the benefit is it DLA? that you can claim while you are working. Not sure, never claimed anything before.
Most people DO have enough to put into pensions. But they instead choose to live beyond their means and indulge in spending they dont need to (such as the latest gadgets/phones, poncy coffees, vacations abroad or in my case- shoes!).
People need to think about what they are spending their income on, and why.0 -
Definitely not me. I live quite a frugal lifestyle. Just made sure I kept paying the mortgage, which is good, as when we sell after paying off a loan, we will still be able to buy a small house.0

Another point to note is that women (and men) who were born in 1960 could still have their pensions increased this year as well because the Government are undertaking a review of the retirement age.
The only area I think women have a grievance was that there were no products created to allow women to save for these 5 or 6 extra years but as many of the women who came on here had not heard of the 1995 act or had any money then that would have been pointless as well.0 -
Yes I agree with you OldBeanz, but the least the government could have done is sent us some sort of letter informing us. When they want something from you, you are sent one quick enough.0

They sent 16 million notices to the last known address back in 2004-2006 and another 2.5 million between 2009 and 2012 about the later changes. In addition to the mass media communication starting in 1993 that is the usual way of communicating this sort of change.0

All my research... all my typing... wastedI am a Technical Analyst at a third-party pension administration company. My job is to interpret rules and legislation and provide technical guidance, but I am not a lawyer or a qualified advisor of any kind and anything I say on these boards is my opinion only.0 -
