Where to go?!

Looking for a short term loan (around £600-£800) to pay for flights to work at a summer camp in America (they're around £1000). I get paid out there so I'll be able to pay for it pretty much straight away. But as I'm only 19, with no credit history, and only a job for 6 weeks (I'll earn around £1000 whilst I'm out there) I'm not sure if anywhere will take me, or if anywhere is even reliable!
Side note: please do not lecture me about saving the money because I only found out last month and I'm going in July and at my current job I only earn £200-£300

Family would be the best bet. Or sell stuff to raise the funds.0

My family don't earn enough to help, and I can't expect them to pay £1000 for stuff. Selling things would be great if I didn't have to pay for my tickets next week and actually had things of value0

Where are you flying to and what dates do you fly out and return?0
-
First place to try would be your own bank surely?0
-
If you can't afford it you can't go.
Unless by some miracle some money ends up in your pocket or you meet someone who is wealthy who could sub you the money.0 -
If not your bank then you can always try to plea with employer across the pond to front you ticket money from your salary. It's a long shot, but what do you have to lose?0

Credit card? If you know you can pay it back, plus you can start to build a credit history.0

Your own bank is about your only hope and they may offer you an overdraft or credit card...but neither may be for a large enough amount."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0 -
I understand you only recently found out you were going but how did you think you'd pay for it before you applied to go?
In order of desirability:
- your own cash reserves
- sell some of your things
- borrow of friends or family
- borrow from your own bank
- get a promotional credit card
- spend on an existing credit card
- Don't go.
I'm not going to recommend short-term lenders.0 -
wow- back in my day, Camp America paid for you to go- OK no pay once you are there, but flights, accom, food and visas were all covered.0
