I am looking for a plaster tape that sticks like super glue! I need it to stick for days.

I have tried standard plaster tape, microporous tape, electrical tape.

I even tried that sports tape that you need to rub to make it stick, suppose to stay in place up to three days, lasted less than three hours :(

Long shot but anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

How much wear will it get? I have some clear stuff, I think it's 'transpore surgical tape' that does better than my others for long lasting, but after 24 hours on my finger it was getting a bit worn at the edges.

Have you asked the chemist? Would it be possible to have the tape and then another sacrificial layer over the edges of something like micropore?

Yes sorry I should have explained.

I am trying to get rid of the verrucas my son has on his foot for over a year, they are getting worse and need dealing with. I want to try the duck tape method as long as I can get the tape to stay in place its the easiest method and won't cause him any discomfort.

I would be happy with 24 hours, I will look into trying this, thanks. EDIT: I have ordered some, thanks again.

I did ask the chemist, they recommended oxide tape but I already had that at home and tried it. I have been putting the micropore tape over whatever tape I am trialing unfortunately it doesn't help, nor does applying a bandage over the top of everything ( makes it worse as it irritates him so he fiddles with it)

Its on the ball of his foot.

Odd suggestion, but have you tried superglue?

It's not toxic if it's not on a cut (direct access to blood) and when you're ready you just use acetone (nail polish remover) to wash it off.
That sounds like a classic case of premature extrapolation.

Blister plasters stick for several days as long as you don't get them wet. I have used the "compeed" brand before but I'm sure there are others. They are around £5 for 5 plasters but very worth it to eliminate misery.

I used the plasters on my heel for blisters and the idea is that the skin heals itself by time the plaster drops off.

OP make sure the area/skin you apply the tape to is clean and dry before you apply anything.

It can help to apply a little alcohol solution (eg like the hand gels but make sure they have no added moisturiser components or similar waxes, oils or silicon to mess with the skins feel). If you then let it dry and then apply the tape you might find it sticks for a little longer.

Just be aware that skin does need air to help it recover and it is important to allow skin to breathe or it dies and goes grey, peels and creates it's own issues. If you can, try to let your skin be uncovered at night and covered during the day.

This is exactly why duct tape is supposed to work for veruccas - it starves them of air. Some people have had success using nail varnish for this which may be worth trying.
