advice on ppi and f and f settlement

Options
Hi

Can anyone help on this? I have been on a dmp with stepchange since 2007. My outstanding balance is estimated as £22934.

I have today been offered a payment from Natwest for ppi which is just over £19000.

Are they likely to agree to write off the existing £3000 or so (the debt was with Natwest and has now been passed to capquest).

I'm unsure as to how the process might work. I'm stil in shock that they have offered such an amount as I was expecting to be in horrible amounts of debt for years to come.

Thanks in advance

Do capquest own the debt or are they acting on behalf of natwest? There will be someone better placed than me to advise along i am sure but if it has been sold to a debt collecting agency and they have been accepting a lowish payment since 2007 I would not be offering then 19,000 as full and final settlement. Hopefully someone can advise you better on where to start with an offer. Good luck
