The Dell Vostro 1000 looks like it may fit the bill if its only for browsing.

If it's only for browsing a secondhand Toshiba for £20 will fit the bill! It takes no power at all.

If you hang out at your local tip you'll probably get one even cheaper...

For browsing and email, almost anything produced in the last 10 years will do the job. This sort of kit is generally regarded as "worthless" and quite often being binned. If you have to buy, £20 may be a bit optimistic but £50 wouldn't be (check refurbs stores, local papers, fleabay etc).

At this price I think your main priority should be to get 1gig of RAM (especially if it comes with Vista), which both of these have.

Maybe try a cheeky offer if you are interested, like £130+ (maybe less) .... i often find they work a treat ...

Previous poster correctly said that if laptop is running Vista (which still has glitches and i would not recommned it yet), then possibly getting 1 gb ram is better ... otherwise, don't worry as win xp pro runs really fine and fast with 512mb ram.
