Hello all
Not sure if this is a right question to ask here, but I am looking for an independent financial advisor for a mortgage. I have tried Google but there are so many different advisors out there I don't know who to use. I just wonder if anybody could recommend me an IFA please. I am based in Worcestershire.
Many thanks in advance!

How about purchasing the local Worcester newspaper...it might be free and looking in the classifieds. Then once you've done that research the IFA to see if there's any complaints or positive/negative reviews then give them a call.
You could ask your friends or family members who have the same financial aims as you for a recommendation.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I would search for independent mortgage brokers instead.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Mortgage Adviser Code of Conduct. Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as financial advice. Please do not send PMs asking for one-to-one-advice, or representation.0

Most IFAs do not do mortgages. However, most IFAs will employ mortgage advisers.
unbiased.co.uk is a fairly large database. Worth doing a search with the filter that shows paying advisers only being turned off. Many will not pay unbiased and only get the free entry (unbiased has gone very commercial in recent years and their current pricing is rather high)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
Thank you so much for the comments, suggestions and advice so far, much appreciated!
Not that I want to sound a lazy person here, in fact I am willing to go extra mile, but ideally I was wondering if anybody could recommend me an advisor or a broker who they have used before, so that I can contact the advisor or broker directly.
I found a random IFA from a local paper many years ago, I don't want to damage the guy's reputation, but I do not think I was advised properly and was sold to a suitable product. This is why I am hoping to get a recommendation here.0 -
Friends, family, workmates are a good catch, are you a member of any Facebook groups for your area you could ask on?0
