Mortgage Advisors?

Hello
We're about to put our house on the market and have decided on a new build home (no judgments please - I know that not everyone likes them, but it's what we've decided is best for us as a family!)
We would like to obtain a 'mortgage in principle' in preparation, but can't decide where to go for mortgage advice. We've looked into Which? Mortgage Advisor and have been given details for a company by the builders, or should we use a local company?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

A local whole of market mortgage adviser or local IFA that has mortgage advisers.have been given details for a company by the builders,
avoid. Not the best reputation. Tends to be harder sell whereas local firms rely on reputation and longevity. They want you to use them again. Whereas estate agent and builder advisers are one hit wonders.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
That's brilliant. Thank you so much Dunstonh, you've confirmed what I suspected.
I'll have a look locally to try to find someone.0
