Gotten a bit behind again

So my tax credits have messed up and I have a few direct debits which are about to go out with no funds. I've posted as much stuff as I can for sale etc. Can anyone give any advice on damage limitation?
Thanks in advance

I imagine they will either bounce so there will be none payment recorded as well as late payment fees, or if they go through there could be charges for going overdrawn.

I would ring the bank tomorrow to see if they will let them go through as the charges for being overdrawn could be less than the charges for late fees. Explain about the tax credits and they may be kind over fees. I dont know what the legalities are or whether they can do that, but could you ask for an overdraft facility or an extension if you already have one. If they agree I would cancel it as soon as the tax credits are sorted.

If they refuse I would speak to the companies involved asap and let them know what has happened.

See if you can live out of your food cupboard for a few meals? ( save a bit on shopping).
Depending on the charges you might want to cancel the DDS, call the companies and explain the situation. Are you able to pay anything towards them?
Rent and council tax are the ones that need to be paid above the others if possible as they will cause most grief if they go wrong.
Have you called tax credits? Have you got any idea how long it will take to get it sorted?
    Good luck

Tell the bank straight away that Tax credits have messed up your payments, they will either allow the payments to go through, or stop them with no charge, if you ask.

But you need to tell them before hand.
