85 year old disabled pensioners double dipped

Options
My 85 year old disabled parents were double dipped at The Range in St Helens last week - bought a curtain pole in the morning (30 mins, tops) which turned out to be faulty so returned in the afternoon (again 30 mins tops) to change it and of course 'don't Care Parking' have taken first in, last out pics and said they overstayed 5 hours.

The Range won't do anything about it so is it ok to just write to dont care parking with copies of the receipts then ignore everything else except court papers ? My parents can't handle it and I just don't have the time to spend hours researching and constructing a Popla appeal

cheers

Have you done the initial appeal to the parking company? I can guess the name of said scumpany but please tell us precisely who it is as there are several scumpanies with similar names, so we need to be sure.

Yes you can add copies of receipts from "one of the occupants of the car" but make sure you don't give away the driver's details.

In addition, go and kick up a stink at the Range, make sure you speak to a manager not customer services, and quote the Equality Act 2010.

Not done the initial appeal yet but as we all know, they just reject appeals as a matter of course.

Two visits to the store and a phone call to the manager has resulted in 'nothing to do with us - take it up with Care Parking'

I had in mind to just send a letter to Care Parking explaining what's happened (as if they don't already know) and sending copies of receipts showing goods purchase in the morning and then exchanged in the afternoon, and saying no further correspondence will be entered into.

I don't think Care Parking do court but they'd have zero chance with this one anyways.

If I had to spend any time with this one I think I'd rather spend it writing to the local press and whoever else I can think of with the tag '85 year old disabled pensioners sold faulty goods by The Range and then hit with £100 scam parking charge when they returned them'

Complain to the Range head office, and make a scene on their facebook page.

Do they have any evidence of being elsewhere during the time?

Don't Care Parking have got quite an uphill battle on this one.

Pretty much got it in one! But don't write snail mail if online or email appeal is allowed, because then you can take a screenshot of the submission and acknowledgement or keep the email as proof (if you can email an appeal, also blind copy in another email of yours as proof that it was sent). Keep that proof.

If they want it publicised you could get the local paper to name and shame Care Parking, which should work seeing as this was a double visit, so no reason to 'charge' nor harass the victims.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just goes to prove the ANPR software is not fit for purpose. Would not take a great deal for a good software designer to sort this, that's if it has not already been done.

As I understand it, this behaviour is actually a feature of some systems - to log complete workdays, so it's already a solved problem. Of course, the PPC's won't make any money from using a system that does its job - they want as many violations to be reported as possible as they know plenty of people will pay up anyway.

If suspected that double dipping is the problem with ANPR, and we know it is, then ask for the ANPR logs to prove it.
Parking companies are very reluctant to provide this info as they are very aware that they have a problem.

No logs means NO REAL EVIDENCE and NO proof. Nobody should accept that what the parking company says is correct.

The bosses of these companies are scum and at the lowest level of life ..... what about the staff they employ, to take a salary from scammers must mean they are in the low life category as well.
