Best jeans for ladies

Options
I am finding it surprisingly frustrating to find a pair of good quality basic denim jeans.

Spent the whole of today scouring the usual shops - Next, M&S, Debenhams, Monsoon, the posh franchises at the Co-op. There wasn't a single pair to suit me. Plenty of cropped, or skinny, or low waisted, or slashed, or dark denim, or jeggings -- but nothing simple.

You used to be able to get jeans really easy, but it now looks like I'll have to seek out premium brands like NYDJ for the kind of thing I'm looking for. Pity that Gap closed down in our town, their jeans were nice.

Where do other ladies get theirs?

At the cheap shops. They fit fine.

All these posh shops are full of clothes cut for "a particular type of person" in mind.... and it's clearly not you :)

I looked at them but the material was really thin and looked like it would snag' easily.

I'm looking for denim that had a bit of thickness to it, like the old Lees or Levis.

PerUna used to do them for under £30 but not any more. Same cheap fabric as other places.

    Try Bonne Marche.
Theirs aren't too bad and are quite cheap - decent waist height, thigh width etc. Made for adults, not teenagers!
Large size range, but only up to 31" leg.

All women are different, what works for one will not work for another.

I used to have a few pairs of NYDJ, bought in the US. I now live in Tesco superskinny jeans that cost a fifth of the price, they are just as good for me.

If you liked Gap why not buy online? They offer free returns so you can try a few different pairs.
