I'm surprised she can't get funding on a foundation course because I did through student finance when I did mine. Granted my parent earns a lot less then you but it surprises me you can't get support for her.
I also fell a year behind my contemporaries, it hurt at the time but in the long run it is all good. Understandably it will be pretty hard to relay that to her0 -
We already live frugally and have done everything possible to minimise household spending just to service the current debt.
This is the kicker for me. If you are only just servicing what you have, you can't afford a new loan as well.
It is unfortunate for your daughter that the birds are coming home to roost right now. I would however start thinking about what else she could do for a year; apprenticeships vs full time study; how on earth you support further study for a degree course.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000
