I have an interview for another 10hrs permanent work, just have to bite the bullet and ask my current boss for a few hours off on Saturday, I feel really crappy about this as he would love to keep me on full-time and was instrumental on finding me the permanent 2 day job within the business and as much as I can get 20 weeks a year seasonal work with them, really I need 20+hrs regular work and this could work out well for both as I would only lose my availability to work on a Saturday so could still cover illness & overtime needs for him.
Now I just have to sell him the idea.
If this works out the extra 75 pounds a week would see our DFD back on the calendar for this year at the end of September, I've also just upped my pension contributions this month and are having talks about maybe downsizing a little earlier than originally planned, it probably wouldn't change much in our housing cost at the moment but would have savings in household cost we would save up to $500 a year in council tax alone0

Well start the new job on Saturday so now have 23.5 hours permanent work and 20hrs seasonal, Saturdays will be a killer for a while as I will be going from one job straight to another so will make for a 13 hr day for a couple of months and I will be hammered by the tax man for a second job but should get some of that back at the end of the year. this could work out quite well for me in the longer term.
I also had the quote for my funeral plan so I can start clearing that, this is something that's played on my mind since we let the insurances lapse, and to me the biggest thing I can tick of my list. Frankly im not sure if it's sad and distasteful or hilarious that Dods has just put a 30K car back on the road and I can't even afford to dispose of myself if need be.
To end on a lighter note it's 12.15 and all is well 0 0

Congratulations on the new job! And don't wear yourself out too much. Everything in moderation, that includes work.
However, something seems a bit odd regarding the car and the funeral expenses. To be honest, I have never concerned myself with funeral arrangements. I have never seen a stray body lying around on the verge or in the gutter in the UK. The council tend to move them and cremate if necessary, so I feel this will happen when I die. Bit of an odd one I know, but does mean I don't worry about paying for something I won't be around to have to worry about.
I guess it's because I don't have children, which is why I can be so mercenary!
As you say - all's well!Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Tori I can't afford life let alone budgeting for death :rotfl: well done on planning ahead though, I'm the same as tahlullah and dont have children so its never even cross my mind that I'd have to plan for funeral costs in the future.0

It does feel like that at time's AleMrsT I think Tahlullah wheelie bin could get crowded pretty quick :rotfl: I think Tahlullah wheelie bin could get crowded pretty quick :rotfl:
A productive morning, changed the home phone and broadband and saved £8 a month so that should balance out the rise in electricty with our current deal ending next month. I must update my signature and re-hash the SOA, Car Tax is due next month that I can say I pay in full ( well it's only £30) but have the satifaction that I paid that with the cashback saved from my credit card. With saying that the cashback credit card is now being closed as they have changed the usage from cashback to money off shopping vouchers and I don't save enough working it that way so makes the card irrelevent.
Today is a good day I have a few hours over-time this morning then the rest of the day to myself and the sun is shining, what more could a girl want 0 0

Am I missing a trick here? Should I be charging rent on said wheelie bin??

Well my first night on the new job was great managed the transition from job one to job two with ten mins to spare I only have 8 weeks of this running about before my 20hrs seasonal job finishes but the great news is the new firm will pick up those hours+ some until at least October, so looking like I can bounce between the two firms on full time hours for rest of this year and hopefully it will continue going forward. I must sit down tomorrow and work my numbers out. we are in a good place at the moment and it finally feels the hassle and scrimping over the last 18months has been worth it even if it hasn't felt like it at times.0
