Hi all,
I know that posting names isn't allowed but hope just the use of a first name ( I don't know the surname or any other details) is allowed.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to a very lovely and kind person called Becky - I hope she may be a forum user.
I won £50 of supermarket vouchers with Warburtons about a month ago. They told me my prize was on the way on 6 May. I waited until this week to say I hadn't received my prize. They responded, apologised and said they would sort it out.
Yesterday I got a lovely letter from a lady called Becky saying that Warburtons had mistakenly sent my prize to her. Instead of keeping quiet and keeping the prize she contacted them to point out their mistake. They told her to keep the prize and they would reissue my prize. She thought that it was unfair that I had waited so long so posted £30 of the vouchers that she had received to me knowing that Warburtons were still going to send me £50.
I am speechless at this act of generosity and kindness. I am hoping that as the comp was posted on this forum that Becky might see this message and know how much I appreciate her actions.
Becky, if you are reading this, may the comping fairy rain lucky dust all over you and karma repay your kindness, you lovely woman you xxxxx

This is interesting!
A friend of mine won £50 in the Warburtons competition too and hasn't received her prize. I have been messaging another member of MSE about this as she too has not received hers either (I'll tell her about this thread too, in case she doesn't see it).
Did Becky say in what way the prize they sent her was a mistake? By that I mean did they send her 2 prizes instead of 1? Or sent her the same prize twice (but separately)? They included your address somehow written within what she received? I assume she also won herself as if I remember correctly it was a Twitter/Facebook comp, so she would have needed to provide her address to them once they told her she had won.
Sorry, so many questions!Just keen to clear up the mystery for my friend and the other MSE forum member. My friend has messaged Warburtons, but they have yet to get back to her.
Congratulations on your win0 -
Becky said in her letter that she was also a winner but received my prize by mistake. I am a bit confused as I thought all runners up (and there were 50) won the same amount however I wonder if she had received her prize AND mine? She got my address from Warburtons. She has also given me contact details of the prize provider which I can PM to you if you want.
I haven't received anything from Warburtons yet but it was only late Wednesday afternoon that I contacted them. I'll keep you posted0 -
Ah ok, thanks for replying
Friend only messaged Warburtons Wednesday too, she said she'll wait longer to see if she hears from Warburtons first, but thank you for the offer of the prize providers details.
I've seen 2 other people ask about their missing prize on Twitter and Facebook too, so it seems they've got in a bit of a muddle! Oh well, as long as everyone gets their prize in the end0 -
Warburtons gave out your address!?!?0

why would they send her a label with your address on if they told her to keep the prize?
plus, that is a mahoosive breach of data protectionYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I'm wondering if the prize provider was given the vouchers, paired up with an address label (they could have been paired up in advance, rather than done at random, because winners had a choice of which supermarket they wanted, or they just got mixed up in the process of pairing up from a list) and they were supposed to put one prize in each envelope with the corresponding address label in the front, but they ended up accidentally stuffing 2 prizes in 1 envelope, plus 1 address label (with luckylady7's address on) and then put the other label (with Becky's address on) on the front of the envelope. So they accidentally gave out the address as opposed to deliberately - I hope so anyway, as otherwise, as mentioned, data protection breach and also unnecessary as Becky told to keep prize.
You'd think they'd notice they didn't have 50 envelopes at the end of it though, although if winners were DM'ing their details over several days then they might not have prepared all envelopes at once. (Still should have noticed of course!)

I also won £50 vouchers in the Warburtons crumpet competition and haven't received them yet. The last I heard was a message from them on 11 May saying they were on their way.
It's quite amazing, reading this thread, so see how they appear to have got things so badly wrong!0 -
I won this too and received a message from Warburtons saying they were on their way and then the vouchers arrived a couple of days after that. This was at least two weeks ago, they also came by signed for mail so for anyone who hasn't received them if you get in touch it should be easy for Warburtons to chase them up (unless obviously it's different depending on the voucher you picked, I opted for Sainsbury's vouchers).A to Z challenge:

20 prizes over £16: 10/200 -
Thanks 2013yearofthehouse for messaging me about this thread! I won on twitter and Facebook but have only received one lot of vouchers about two weeks ago. I messaged them a couple of days ago about my other vouchers and they said they are looking in to it and they would get back to me shortly.
It's looking like there's a been huge admin error!! Hopefully they will get it sorted!!Debbie0 -
**UPDATE**
I got my vouchers from Warburtons today :-)0
