Mortgage joint account

In the process of getting a Mortgage for a new home. The current mortgage is in my name. I have a joint account that I pay money into each month that we use for the bills and Mortgage . Because the account has my partners name on it they say that this might be a problem for the underwriter. So I am getting a letter to say that this is a joint account from the Bank that we both use.

Also it was mentioned about the Child benefit been paid into it saying to prove that is paid into your account. I have provided printed statements showing it in the joint but it doesn't go to me as its a joint account.

Has anyone else applied for mortgage on a joint account when the mortgage is just in your name?

The funny thing is the building society have been more than happy to take 3+ years payments from the joint account.
