Has anyone used Receipt Hog?

Afternoon Forumites! :)

I'm writing a blog about mobile app Receipt Hog and was wondering if anyone had used it? How much have you cashed out?

Would be great to get some feedback - responses may be used in a blog.

Thanks :j:j

  • Hi Jordon! I have used Receipt Hog now for over two years and it is by far my favorite shopping rewards app. I have cashed out several times for $30 each time on PayPal, and always receive the cash very quickly. I've even won the monthly sweepstakes for submitting a restaurant receipt, so it turns out those can earn too :) I love feeding the little Hog and watching him grow fatter and much happier!

Is it only a US app? (or am I being cynical thinking the app developers keep themselves on tabs with any new mentions their search engines pull up to ensure the ratings are positive...)

    Hi Jennie -

It was originally as US based app but they have now expanded to the UK. Me and other MSE Deals team members have been snapping receipts and building up coins to cash out. It's worth a look! :j:j:j

  • I've used it about 6 months so far (in the UK) & I love it, so easy to use. Not cashed in yet but building up to get a big Amazon voucher.

Only discovered receipt hog app at the weekend, uploaded all my receipts for the past two weeks (I keep them until I get my statements each month to check them off) and I am hooked. Easy to use and only had to resubmit one as it was blurry. I think it looks like the effort is worth the rewards as you don't have to buy specific products it is just your usual purchases that all add up.

I have used Reciept Hog since the beginning of the year. It is pretty easy to use and I haven't had any major issues. They accept a large number of receipts but occasionally there is a surprise that they don't accept something you thought they would! The main thing I have found is that it takes a long time to build up the coins required for a reward, but as its a free app I don't think that can be too unexpected. I have posted my referral code on the referral board if anyone is thinking of starting to use the App.
  • I've been using it for about 8 months and I'm saving up to see what I can cash out at Christmas, I'm at £10 paypal already but hoping to get to £20 by December. I think it's great, easy to use and I've even benefitted from a sweepstake win!

It's worth noting that if your receipt isn't accepted, query the reward and it's sometimes changed :)

I tried it for a while but find it too tedious to go through my receipts and photograph them all with the app. My phone camera isnt that great to begin with. Some receipts have the details one side and the date the other and you need to make sure you have all the information in your one submission.
I had a couple of blurry ones and one which clearly had the date shown was rejected for not showing the date.
I think I am too used to 'shop and scan' to get used to this one, so have given up on it.

I use it but haven't earned enough to claim anything significant yet. I try and submit my receipts daily. I find it easier than doing surveys, which i need to get back into the habit of doing really
