Hello!
Like many others in this forum, I have been a long time lurker. I have finally decided to take the plunge and start my own diary to help to keep me on track and focused on paying off our mortgage as soon as possible! We are currently in the process of building our forever home and although we don't have the funds to completely finish it, we are looking forward to moving in and starting the next chapter of our lives in our new house.
A little about me:
I am cursed with expensive taste but don't have the budget to match! I have always been the type of person to life for the moment and make the most of life (often funding extravagant holidays using 0% credit cards!) I have the 'You only live once' mentality and strongly believe that we need to make the most of lives, and appreciate what we have. I am incredibly lucky that I have the most loving family that I could possibly wish for.
I am currently on maternity leave but i'm returning to work at the end of this month (hence the reason why I thought now was a good time to start my diary!). After a spendy few years, (wedding, honeymoon and house building!) I have really had to reign myself in whilst being on maternity leave which has definitely made me realise that I want to be 'Financially Independent' and not tied down to having a mortgage for the next 22 years!
So here is a brand new diary where I hope to share my successes (and knowing me, no doubt plenty of financial failures!) whilst being sensible with my money but also not forgetting to have fun!
Here's to new beginnings!
