Paypal problem, need help

HI, it's been a very long time since I last posted here! And I'm sorry as I know this isn;t the right board but I can't work out where would be. Perhaps an admin could move it to the right place?
Basically, I've become the chair of a local playscheme which is run by a committee of volunteers as a not-for-profit organisation. Once a year, for five mornings, we hold activities for local children, which they pay for.
Last year we decided to take payments by Paypal and the then-chair set up a Paypal account.
At the end of July last yeear, during the week we were running the playscheme, Paypal limited ie locked our account. I told teh chair who was going to sort it.
Of course, it now turns out she didn;t sort it. So I've tried to but Paypal is asking for a copy of the company extract from trade registry and I have NO IDEA what that is. I suspect we don;t have it as we are not a business.
I tried phoning them but can't get the automated system to let me though. I have emailed and asked on the Paypal support/help boards but I thought the people here on MSE would probably have the knowledge (if I could find the right board!).
So. Does anyone know what Paypal want? And where I can find it?
We have £600 locked in this account and registrations for next year open this month, but I am not going to accept payments this way if we can't actually get the money out!
Thanks to the previous chair leaving it, it's now urgent and deserate so I'd appreciate any help you can give.
Thank you!

Thank you. For some reason their system claims it can;t hear me speak or press buttons so I can;t get through it at all but I have emailed in the hope they will call me.
I am 99 per cent certain we are not registered with companies house as we are not a company, so I'm worried we will lose the £600 in the account AND be unable to take paypal payments this year.
No wonder no-one ever wants to chair!!! I thought dealing with OFSTED was bad enough!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

On the other hand, the 0800 number is a free call from landlines and from mobiles.

A not for profit organisation would normally still be registered with Companies House as a Company Limited by Guarantee. You would be required to fill in tax returns annually to prove that you do not owe tax. You would use the registration documents when you buy Public Liability Insurance for the sessions.
I would supply PayPal with a copy of your Tax Returns or Insurance Documents.

Not if it's just an informal voluntary group.
I wouldn't supply PayPal with any tax returns, especially not for a separate entity, such as an individual or a company.
There is no obligation for this body to be registered at Companies House. An ‘unincorporated association’ is an organisation set up through an agreement between a group of people who come together for a reason other than to make a profit, eg a voluntary group or a sports club.
You don’t need to register an unincorporated association, and it doesn’t cost anything to set one up.
Individual members are personally responsible for any debts and contractual obligations.
If the association does start trading and makes a profit, you’ll need to pay Corporation Tax and file a Company Tax Return in the same way as a limited company.

OP has £600 in the account and wants to carry on offering Paypal payment options.
They may not legally have to provide the information, but I am sure Payal do not have to allow access to their services if they are not sure about the way the account is run.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
The 0843 number appears to be yet another example of the premium rate 'call connection service' scam. This is where a third party sets up a premium rate number which simply forwards calls to a particular callcentre. Calls to the 0843 number cost a lot more than calling the official 01, 02, 03 or 080 number. The people running the connection service pocket the Service Charge paid by all the people who call their premium rate number. If you feel you were misled as to the nature of the 0843 number, you can complain to ASA.
On the other hand, the 0800 number is a free call from landlines and from mobiles.

I am attuned to spotting the number ranges most commonly used for this scam. I posted a list here:
