Santander 'My Offers' Cashback

From time-to-time I manage to take advantage of the time-limited cashback offers that come up as part of the 'My Offers' section of the Santander website and app. I recently bought some clothes from a couple of high street stores which were offering cashback for purchases made using your Santander card but ended up taking back quite a few items the following day. Much to my surprise, I still received the full cashback amount.

I'd be astonished if the T&Cs don't allow them to take that money back. Whether they actually do or not is another matter.

You'd have thought so. Will keep an eye on it...

I've never thought about it before, but how would Santander know that the refunded item is the same purchase that qualified for the cashback? You could buy something for £50 in May and a day later return something for £50 that was purchased in April.

[STRIKE]I'm struggling to copy the relevant paragraph on my phone but you need to look at point 25. In essence you keep the cashback. I dare say that they wouldn't look warmly on anyone who abuses it.[/STRIKE]

    25. If you receive a refund on a purchase on which you have received cash earnings, the earnings will still be awarded to you.
