Company obliged to state delivery company used on website

A suggestion that all companies should have to state on their website who they use for deliveries prior to you ordering.
My hope would be that people would then pick companies who use 'good' delivery companies and therefore companies will then switch to them. Bad ones would then be forced to improve service or lose business.

How would it work where a retailer uses multiple couriers? What would you do if your delivery turned up with one not on the list?
It's not a great idea.0 -
Trouble is service is based on cost. And poorest couriers are the ones whole take any job at a price. Companies love that as it keeps it's cost base down. The more I live, the more I learn.

How little I know.!!0 -
I would like to be given a list of options. Maybe they don't have to all state the exact provider - maybe one could be "standard courier" and another could be "Royal Mail 1st class parcel".
I do find it annoying not knowing - I have a RM delivery office very close to where I live (and en route between the railway station and my place) so it's very easy to pick up missed RM deliveries. But if it's Yodel or something it can be a nightmare.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

If there's an option for 'click & collect' that's my preferred choice.
If it has to be a courier, then Royal Mail is best as if I miss the delivery, it's no big deal for me to call at the sorting office.0 -
Is the detailing of a company's supply chain not in the public domain?:T :money: :T0

I'm not sure you could force it, but I'd encourage it to be published. It's good to have a choice from a basic consumer point of view, even if you don't care for ethics.0

Most delivery companies are only as good as their local couriers. Time and again you find people slating RM, Amazon Logistics, Hermes, DPD, etc., etc., and ad infinitum.
I can honestly say that I have never, and I mean never, had a problem with any delivery company, and most of my shopping in the last 15 years or so has been done online, and I have received parcels delivered by virtually every delivery company there is. I can't be alone in this, surely.
So what the OP's suggestion would achieve is questionable (more pointless rules & regulations).0 -
UK Mail always deliver my parcels to a house a mile away, the householder has delivered them to me thankfully.
I now ask suppliers if they use UK Mail or have them delivered to argos etc.

What is a good delivery service in my town might well be shocking in your town, so how will companies know what is good. It can be down to the actual driver whether the service is good or bad; really don't see this idea as a flyer.0
