Wednesday 1st June - What small debt free wanabee things will ypu so today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hi Bob thanks for the threads. Nothing much to report here. Staying at home, having lessons, not spending anything. I guessing everyone is busy working or having fun with their families.

Thank you for asking. His back is greatly improved, he went back to work last week. He has stopped taking the oral painkillers and is barely using topical painkillers. He has said he needs to lose weight and improve his core strength, this has been the wake up call he needed, he was shocked at how debilitating it has been.

    Evening all :)
Quiet thread today - thanks for the start though Bob! Guess everyone is doing half term stuff :)

    For me today:
Put away all the summer dresses and tops I ironed yesterday
    HM meals from stores
Low spend day - bought 2 big pots from the cheap shop, for my cucumber plants, at £2.99 each :)
Sold 2 items on ebay :)
Packed and posted one of yesterday's sales :)
Waiting for payment for another one :(
Listed more things - ebay have offered me free listings for all of June :T Must keep this up every day, as I have a large monthly listing allowance :)
Payday from sales unit in town - not great :( I have asked to move to a smaller space, as I am doing so much better on ebay and the rent is currently a big outlay each month
    Business paperwork
OH did the hoovering while I was at the shop :T:A
Walked all journeys = free exercise :D

And that is about it - unless more sales happen this evening
    Hope everybody is ok!

    Good Evening All

Bob - Thanks for starting us off today, have a great holiday!

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Weather has been rubbish again here (so cold and very dull) so we've had a quiet day (well DH and I did, DS went to the park with friends) so today I/we have:

    Checked Bank
Sorted DS's wardrobe (few bits to pass on to grandson)
Bumped couple of bits for sale -
Watched DVD (Peter Kay's Car Share - my sides ache from laughing - did me a world of good)
    Entered a few comps
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Checked https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win -
    Checked Lucky Phone/Ashleigh/Numberplatelotto -

Fingers crossed the weather is better tomorrow as we are hoping to use the tickets to the theme park I won for a cheapish day out.

Have a great evening, love to you all!

Im very pleased to hear it. Suddenly being unable to function normally is a huge shock. I certainly felt that with my appendix surgery situation.

Dawn makes sense to downsize to a different unit if you dont need the space. Could you go online only or doesnt that work for your business?

Ziggy thank, you too. Im just home for the week but its lovely seeing more of DS.

    Well my small things today
    1) Found a fiver in Poundland! High five me. It was lying under the till area. I spotted it from the queue. The lady behind me was in such a hurry she practically pushed me out the way to get to the first available till, leaving me to just casually bend down to tend to the baby and whip it up :)
    2) Used up leftover roast chicken for the kids tea.
    3) Hung washing not used tumble
    4) Stuck to the flylady routine to keep organised
    5) Recieved a bid on the Cowboy outfit I'd ebayed. At £4.50 currently.
    6) Checked banking
    7) Froze some overripe oranges to make into a cake at some point
    8) DH and DS rode to the community sports scheme which saved £4 on travel card
    9) Walked around 4 miles on my errands
    10) Cleaned my purse of reciepts and put them in my in tray.

    Night all

I love the school holidays and being around for my son (even though he is getting older and wanting to be out with his friends).

Good for you on finding that fiver (sounds just like the scenario when hubby found the £20 at wembley).
